Having read many posts on this forum, I purchased MES and adapter 3 (CAN) for my 2019 Panda TwinAir from Gendan (excellent service).
I’ve followed their setup instructions to the letter, downloaded the drivers, reduced the latency of the COM port, registered my copy of MES. Etc etc.
Connected everything up for the first time today, ran an adapter check, all okay.
Ran a scan but only 3 modules are showing, body, dashboard and airbag. If I try to connect to anything, I get the error message ELM327> ECU connection failure.
Bit of a newbie to scanning, so not sure what I am doing wrong. I’m not sure the 2019 Panda has a Security Gateway, or maybe it has?
Any guidance appreciated, it’s probably something simple that I have overlooked.

Hi, 🙂

Only partial expertise here.. BUT

MY 2013 PANDA and 2018 500 just use an ELM327
NO coloured adaptors

Not 100%, sure what KIT you are using..

But my understanding is the Panda is unlikely to have SGW as it never got upgraded like the 500 did (options of Cruise / speed limiter stalk etc)

VGate Vlink ELM327 adapter and a yellow cable for CAN (no.3), as per Gendans advice and purchased from them ( not eBay Chinese copies)

When trying to connect, you have to select from the list (of all possible modules) the module you are shown you have, those 3 that appear on scan. Click from the list on which on of them you want to connect (body, dashbord, airbag) and then click connect.
If the adapter doesn't have a comutator to select other positions, I don't think that you can connect to engine module with it.

See this table for Panda TwinAit here: https://www.multiecuscan.net/SupportedVehiclesList.aspx

The adapter is only required for: Airbag, Service Reset, Instrument, Blue&Me and Climate system. With the adapter in use you will not be able to see the other systems.
S130,

So I only need the yellow adapter to communicate with the modules marked with A3? The rest I connect the vGate directly?

Whoops.looks like it been moved into the wrong section 2019
Has it? I moved this from Punto to Panda Mk3. Is not a 2019 Panda a MK3 one. If not I'll move to 2012+ but when I quickly looked at the MK3 posts many were related to older models.

God knows

But there wasn't a mark 3 multiair

So alarm bells rang in my head

Even I get confused especially as I recall a Scan will (I think - confused) list all modules but then you need an adapter to connect to some.

If an adapter is required then MES will prompt for it to be installed.
All sorted, connected to all the modules as expected. Reset the oil change, and hopefully deactivated the ECO function, proof will be in the driving. Thanks all 👍

Side note..

The labelling is a bit clumsy,
CLASSIC (141) panda from 1983/4 to 2002 (ended @1997 in UK)

MODERN (169). PANDA 2003 to 2012

CURRENT panda 312/319 body

2012 to presentday

I believe there was a revision in the Boxy Classic Panda..
So potential for a 3rd generation by 2003 (20 years.. So quite likely)

It IS Confusing!
