Technical 2015 Panda Drivers Side Rear Door Diagram

Hi

Does anyone have an exploded diagram of either of the rear doors on a Panda ?

The central locking unit has failed, and the child lock is on, so my idea is to unbolt the door at the hinges and try and swing it open enough on the lock to access the child lock.

However, the restraining strap is stopping me. I cannot access the fixing of this to the bodywork, so need to understand how it is fixed in the door. There are two captive nuts that I can access, but will undoing these release the strap from the door ?

I’ve linked to the section with all the doors etc so you see all the subsection choices.

For each diagram, right-clicking it (at least on my Mac) brings up ‘view image’ and that then opens up larger.

BUT... Can you not remove the inside plastic trim - that can all be accessed from inside the car with the door closed. Remove window winder (pull hard), release screw from inside the internal door release, and one more behind a pop-off plastic cover in the door pull. The panel unclips from the lower edge first, and once all clips free, lifts up to unhook from the top (window) edge. Thanks for the reply - the diagram shows me that I am going to have to cut off that strap somehow.

I already have the door card off, but that doesn't really help. The lock is a complete enclosed part, and cannot be removed from inside the door. The door has to be open to be able to access the fixings. - Unless you know something I don't which is more than likely. If you have any ideas, any advice would be much appreciated.

I had the exact same problem last week on my 15 reg Trekking. Took it to a local garage who removed the inside trim (I saw it all off on the back seat while they waited for the part) and fixed it that way, without as far as I know, removing the door. It cost me £150 . £80+ for unit plus labour VAT etc.

So just to clarify - your child locks were on, and the door could not be opened either from inside or outside ? If so, the garage must have found a way to remove the lock without opening the door to gain access to the fixings. I wonder how they did this ?

Yes Simon. As I understand, although obviously I wasn't there, they removed all the trim, "smashed" the sealed unit, fitted a new one and put it all back together. The door has not been removed as far as I can see.

Thanks for this - you confirmed my thinking. Have now smashed cover off lock (which needed replacing anyway) to gain access to the child lock mechanism from inside the car. Door now opens from inside the car, and new lock has been ordered.
