Hi lads.

Just had my 2015 van serviced. 143 thousand miles and very well minded van.
After a 2 hour drive today when sitting in traffic the dash said "insufficient oil pressure turn off engine". I did and 5 minutes later it did the same.
I stopped for 15 minutes and after 30 seconds it did it again. I drove 5 minutes home and haven't moved since (it didn't do it on the 5 minute journey home).
Any ideas on what it could be?

Thanks again.

I take it you do have oil? My car was returnedwith no oil not so long back afterservice. Only other time Ive seen this the car was sucking in air at the oil cooler Check any connections first
Yes the oil level is perfect. The van has only done about 200 miles from the last service.

This could just be a level sensor issue, including a loose connection but you obviously need to be very caustious. If you could get a diagnosis it might well point you in the right direction. The car with similar symptoms had a loose pipe on its oil cooler and it detached the next day and the oil was lost. There is certainly an oil level sensor so if you can locate it it would be astarting point.

Thanks guys for the replies. Mechanic sorted it today. Drained the "new" oil, which he said was quite "watery" and had very little viscosity. He also replaced the filter with a better one. He said the filter wasn't great but the new one has taken a much better bite so to speak.

Oil level sensor??? where is that ,

There is a presure switch but that's different.
