Hi everyone. I have a 2015 doblo 1.6 and I need a new engine for it. I cannot find the engine code on the engine itself. Iv spoken to Fiat and they told me the part number of the engine is 71775590 but that’s all he could tell me. I have found an engine from a 2013 Fiat 500xl can anybody tell me if this engine is the same and will fit ? It looks the same in the photos bar some ancillaries? Thanks.

Hi :)

They are both a bit 'niche'

Why not get on Autotrader..Gather a few Reg numbers

And compare oil filters at ECP..and other example servoce items

Major castings too.. what you dont want is issues mounting the gearbox..as an example

Compare here :

Do let us know what you find :)

That’s my fear. But then I’m also thinking that surly Fiat wouldn’t have gone to the cost of making differnt blocks for the same engine in different models. I work for bmw and Audi in the past and this was never the case they was all the same. But they wasn’t Italian!!!

The 1.6 Stop Start engine has different ancillaries compared to normal.
In particular is the oil filter that is quite different and mounted in an extremely awkward place to replace!

So I took the reg of a 2013 Fiat 500 and searched for an oil filter. And then compared it to my doblo and the part numbers are the same. It does list an option for stop start but my van doesn’t have stop start anyway. I really cannot see them making major casting changes if any for different model vehicles. Where are the Fiat gurus to tell me what’s what ? I know my engine code is 198a300 and the 500 engine is 199b5000 but I have no idea how Fiat works as in is it differnt just because it’s a different model for instance
