Technical 2014 Speedo/Cluster LCD compatibility

So I'm attempting to fix a 2014 speedo which has a failed LCD. Local used parts dealer has some older speedos (c 2011) but none of the correct year, but question is whether the older LCDs will be compatible with the newer speedo.

Part number on my speedo is 735590740 2 77359
and the ribbon of the current LCD has a sticker with COG: VLIT1592-02 with a 2013 date code on it.

It seems from some basic internet searching that the ribbon LCD might be common to multiple models, but figured I would ask on here before potentially getting it wrong!

As long as you use one from the same generation of car you’ll be fine. Late 2016 onwards for later cars but anything younger will work on pre facelift cars.

So I bought a non-part numbered speedo online, but must have been an even earlier version as it didnt have the right display when I swapped over.

Ended up just biting the bullet and going with AK speedo who sent the right part super quickly and worked well.
I have a spare speedo now from an older model so anyone local to Leeds feel free to get in touch if you need LCD replacing or want other speedo bits
