Offside Daytime running light intermittent. Bought vehicle at beginning of July and light worked for approx a month. Had the bulb changed at Wilco and now sometimes light comes on and other times it doesn't. No pattern as to why. Occasionally when it is out it will relight during journey.

Any ideas ??

Sorry, but I wouldnt let Wilco near mine. Check its not a duff bulb. I have had 2 loose near side DRL FITTINGS. This may affect the earthing. Both jyst needed tge screws tightening a little. Alsocheck its dors have the correct bulb type and that the bulb holder is not damaged. Dirty connections or loose pins in the plug are not unknown, try some cobtact cleaner spray too. The DRLs are held inby just 2 screws so not difficult to remove tge fitting for inspection. Good luck.

Thanks. Saw bulb working on both occasions, the day the new bulb fitted and then the next day when I took it back as it had stopped working.

If you’re worried about an imminent MoT - you don’t need to worry!

“You only need to inspect daytime running lamps (DRLs) if they’re fitted as original equipment to vehicles first used on or after 1 March 2018”

Thanks that was my concern although does not need MOT until March. Great thanks

What @Bonefish Blues says above - also check out the threads re DRLs on here (use the search engine). They use a twin filament bulb (typical rear brake/sidelight bulb with offset bayonet fitting - assuming this is not a later LED equipped car) by some CanBus trickery the bulb switches from the higher wattage filament to the lower when the car headlights are switched on. With this in mind one question, are you observing the bulb has fixed itself when you have turned the main lights on (or vice versa)?? Perhaps one or other of the filaments is blown? Do you get a message on the display??

It is the standard two filament bulb. And yes I get the warning on the display. Checked earlier when light was working by turning headlights on the DRL dimmed so using the 5w filament.

Thanks to all for comments and help
