Has anyone successfully replaced a broken or badly corroded exhaust hanger?

Thanks

If you have a tame (cheap/mates rates) welder who can get a piece of rod, bend it around the pipe and tack it on, then that's possible as long as the welding doesn't blow through the pipe, since it looks quite badly corroded round there too.

But for the aggro and likely costs involved (if you have someone who wants paying do it) it's better to just replace the pipe.

If you fit the new one yourself, you have an opportunity to paint it with heatproof paint first, which should help it stay uncorroded for a bit longer.

I just cut the rusty bits off and welded new hangers in place, they are quite cheap.
