My 2007 Ducato starts strait away when cold and runs well. However once the motor is warm and you stop the motor it will not restart ( can be restarted by spraying a little ether in the motor). I have replaced the crank and cam shaft sensors but does not solve the problem. Any ideas?

Hi,
My DUCATO was in the same state.
0) The car is a DUCATO X250 2007 160multijet
1) Good engine startability on cold days
2) The engine does not start easily on warm days.

I ended up having to replace the starter motor.
It's Japanese, but...

Hi Andy :)

Are you getting rail pressure??

Without it..it wont inject fuel

Cranking speed can be the difference

Hi
Thanks for the sugestion. Crank speed seems good - if anything you would expect it to be slower when cold but fires up straight away when cold.
Could well be rail pressure so will have to get that tested

Hi Marupuyo
Interesting that fixed your problem. Mine just won't start at all when hot. My starter motor turns the motor over strongly when both cold and hot.

PS: my van is a DUCATO X250 2007 120multijet
