Technical 2007 Ducato electrical problem

Yes that is the engine bay fusebox, which is somtimes referred to as a "junction unit". Here is apicture of one offered on Ebay.

The burn mark does not look good. Either an overload, or a poor connection.

If you inspect the black bar at the top of the page, you will find a "Downloads" button. Click on that and work through the menus to Fiat Ducato 1st x250 Training Manual". Download. Page 117 onwards is electrical. See perhaps halfway down page 152, It suggests that F53 controls the hazard flasers and direction indicators.

Unfortunately and more generally the common point appears to be the BCM, but it could also be the associated wiring.

If for example you consider the main beams staying on, this could be due to a faulty input to the BCM, or a fault in the output cable to the engine bay fusebox where the main beam relay is located. A wiring fault could result in relayT02 staying operated after swithching off at the column. This explanation would not work for the direction indicators/hazard warning, which are directly controlled by the BCM.

I do not like suggesting that money is spent, before investigation proves it to be necessary. In this context it may be worth checking in the engine bay for that rusty pipe abraiding cables, as shown in previously linked thread.

Another point to eliminate, is rodent damage to the wiring, either under the bonnet or behind the dashboard.

Just back from the van and can’t find any faults with wiring or earth cables, removed both headlights, air filter, under bonnet fuse box, dashboard, steering wheel….. can’t find anything….. dreading it all points to the BCM

UPDATE
So had the van in the local garage, they couldn’t find the cause of the faults but after unplugging all of the various fuse box connections and spraying etc, all the faults disappeared...... diagnosis seems to be just a poor electrical connection to the under bonnet fuse box (fitted by RAC)

However, whilst in the garage I had them change the cam belt and water pump (well overdue).

Drove around 300 miles with no issue until the van misfired in 6th gear, dropped down to 5th and it misfired another few times, ok in 4th gear.

Engine warning light came on in the the middle of a single lane roadworks escorted convoy, down to 2nd gear for about half a mile.

Engine warning light went off and no further issues since, driven a further 500 miles in all gears with no misfire and no further electrical faults.

Any ideas ?
