Hi All.I have a 2007 Ducato 3.0 manual motorhome.
Shortly after I bought it 3 years ago,the EML came on with a slight throttle,"dead spot/hesitation,the throttle control valve was replaced which seemed to cure it.Since then very intermittent EML with no symptoms, always went out on it's own.
A few weeks ago returned from a short break, parked on the drive, the engine struggled to restart and cut out after one minute. After waiting a few seconds,it repeated the same thing,i.e struggle to start/cut out after one minute.
Professional diagnosis,(can't remember the fault code now),pointed to throttle control valve,so I bought one,(Pierburg,as already fitted),which my mechanic friend fitted for me and all was well, started great and ran perfectly.
Parked up for a week, decided to go away, brought van home to load/back to storage all good news.
Following morning,(04.30),started,EML came on),decided to go for it anyway but the van has a massive flat spot in the throttle response and is either down on power or in limp mode.On the fairly flat it drives fine but the merest sniff of a decent incline and it won't hold any speed until I'm down to 3rd gear.
My El Cheapo diagnostic says fault code PO638,(TCV again),which my diag tool will clear but the fault/EML comes straight back on.
I've stripped the front/contact cleaned the electrical connections but no change.
Started to suspect throttle pedal potentiometer but is seems to rev ok up to 3rd gear but 4-6th not so good.
Anything else I can do before lashing out on another TCV and trying to claim for the one just fitted?
TIA,
Lance
