Technical 2001 1.2 mk2 Please help!!

Please help me!
I was going along the dual carriageway last week when i lost all power suddenly and my engine light come on. I got recovery and since then my dad who is a mechnic has had a look at it and he said it is only rnning on two cylinders he has replaced the coil and the sparks and things are still the same. The electric is only running to one coil Ive had a mobile tune bloke come today with his laptop and he couldnt find out what it was either he said it maybe the ecu but he dunno
So i dont know what to do next! Any suggestions or anything would be appricated

Sounds like the usual ECU problem.........

Yours is out of warranty so will be expensive, unless they can be rapaired?

How expensive do you reckon is it worth getting a recondition one? isuposse the best thing is to get fiat to test it

Luckily my ECU was still under warranty when it gave up so Fiat replaced it. I asked them how much it would have cost me to buy and they said around 500quid So if the reconditioned are cheaper its worth getting.....

You could get them to test it just to make sure, but you're describing exactly what happened with mine- only one coil worked/engine light/misfire etc. How much would a test be?

I had the same problem on my mk2 for about a year ago and they told me at my Fiat garage that it could be damp in the ignitioncables if the weather is going warm one day and cold the next. It shows up like you lose power and the engine will missfire. They just cleaned the cabels and it worked, I´ve only noticed it once after that but it disapered! I think it could help......and it´s the cheapest way to try. Good luck!
