I haven't been able to open my boot using the key for a while but the boot release lever by the driver's seat worked. Now that's stopped working too. When the weather's better, I'll put the back seats down and climb in to see what's happening. Have been googling to get a better idea of what to expect but all threads refer to newer cars with central locking which I don't have.

Is there anyone who can give me an idea of what the problem could be? I'm assuming it's either a broken or unhooked cable. I'm not fussed if the boot doesn't open using the key but I would like the release lever to work.

Thanks in advance.

Get some lubricant in there through the keyhole and clamber in over the back seat and try from that side as well. A few taps with a rubber hammer of a stick might help things along.
Could be lucky and that's all it is.

I think there is a lever on the side of the lock that'll open it from the inside (I know the GP has that but it's got electric opening).
The boot release cable could've snapped. Is the lock loose in the hatch?
