Technical 1999 ducato 2.8 idtd brake fluid

Is Dot 4 brake fluid correct. Need to top up reservoir a little.

You should not lose brake fluid. The reservoir level will drop as the pistons move out, in response to brake pad wear. If reservoir is low, perhaps brake pad wear should be checked?

Actually once I opened its up to full mark. Couldn't see the level from outside because its clear colour.
