Hi,

Bear with me, I'm no mechanic.

Took my 1996 Punto 55SX 1108cc out of the garage this morning only to find a small patch of oil on the floor under each of the front wheels.

Any idea what this could be/where it could be coming from? Seems a bit strange that it should suddenly appear on both sides at once.

Any help/suggestions you can give this technical novice would be much appreciated, thanks.

LeakyPunto

Could be brake fluid. In which case you can check the fluid level for a start.

My advice though if that if there's ANY doubt - get it checked.

No brakes = dead people. If you have to drive anywhere, test them constantly but certainly check the fluid level first.

Would be VERY odd to have them both leak at the same time though.

CV grease tends to just stick to everything tho and never drip because its so thick.

Is it def oil, it could be from your dampers. Odd that its at both at once tho. Could it be oil mixed with water thats dripped down?

It's certainly possible that it's oil from somewhere central that has run down/along other parts and dripped down under the wheel arches. Doesn't seem to be mixed with water though, it seemed pretty thick (like me when it comes to fixing my car...).
