Right, mad thread this one....

I want to put a 1242cc (Punto 60) SPi Engine in my Cinq. Slight problem due to ECU- Most Punto's are immobilised I believe and so, to "obtain" an ECU from a scrapyard without locks would [robably result in it not working.

Now for the technical bit. My Cinq (93 L Reg No immob) uses a 6F Type ECU (6F.S0), and i've found that the Punto 1.1-1.2 uses the 6F in various types between the years of 1994-1996.

What I need to know from a few people (if possible) with either a Punto 55 or 60 registered between 1994 (L\M Reg) and 1996 (N\P Reg) is what ECU their car has- (its the code on the top of the grey box in 1" high letters- 6F.SN or 6F.EB) and whether it is immobilised (blue key or black key) or not.

Cheers

Ill think of something witty....just wait and see............wait I might not.

Don't worry mate!
Just change the engine ... but leave the ECU where it is. It works without change (needs some miles to adjust).
Maybe not the 100% perfect solution, but if you want 100% get it superchipped after the change.

What? an 899 ECU running a 1242...I doubt it, wer'e talking about 300cc difference in engine size!!

As for superchipping, i've been quoted £300 for an ECU remap!!

Oh you are driving a 899 Cinque.
Somehow I thought you are driving a 1108ccm one.
My advice. Exchange it for a sporting ;))

Thought so...That was rapidly becoming the next plan anyway:D
