Technical 1970 500F Alternator conversion

Hi,
I am at the end of a total rebuild of a 1970 500F, i have a coulpe of things to finish of and one of them being the alternator, i brought one to replace the generator but it came with out a diagram or instructions, does any one have a diagram or information that may help?

Put it into a Google image search and see what you get. Most alternators have similar designs and layouts but older ones had a seperate regulator. Love to see pics of finished project, post if you can.

Welcome to the forum.

Are you saying you want to replace an existing generator with an alternator?

The mountings for the two are completely different.

I have the new alternator all fitted and ready to go, it just the information ref the hook up of the cables, i plan to work on it tomorrow and thought any extra information would be helpful.

I have include a diagram that I found on the web. Don't know the source so I can't pass on credit or verify. Perhaps you can compare what Chris has provided against the diagram and we can confirm that the two together create the definitive solution!

I am currently on holidays with limited net access so won`t be pestering the list so much for a while. The diagram is one of mine and shows my setup. Looking forward to many more photos.

The photos below are how the car is now, i think its finished? but i do keep spotting jobs as i look round it lol
