Is there any way to check if the variator solenoid is working on a 155 Bravo HGT? Can the resistance be checked?

remove the cambelt cover and then run the engine to watch the variator pulley, if it moves when you increase rpm then its working

very easy, get a spanner on the aux belt tensioner bolt, turn the tenionser to slacken the belt, remove the belt, get a torx key on the timing belt cover bolts, remove the cover, then you can see the variator pulley, should take 10mins.

the lazy way is to only remove the timing belt cover bolts at the top and then prise the cover slighly away from the engine so you can watch the variator pulley through the gap.

not on a 20v my friend.

undo the top 3, one may require making a tool from a torx bit and a spanner, then undo on of the engind mounts and lower the engine to get the other one.

about 30 minutes probably but if you dont know what your doing maybe best to let someone else have a look.
