Re: nice!!!

Well, the handle arrived, and I have to say that

A) It doesn't quite match the one I already fitted! So are there are 2 types of 147 handle! Not that it'll notice when it's fitted to the other side of the car!!

B) They seem to have got it out with a screwdriver, cos the top VISIBLE edge is all mangled. Bastards

and

3) :) The plastic arm/back of the lock mechanism (why the hell did they make it plastic?) is broken, so It'll go on, but won't have a working lock. :( (Guess I can live without passenger side locking- probably havent used it since I had the car, always use the bleeper)

All in all, Avon Autospares seem to not care about the producs they sell. Not recommended. Unless you really really really need a bit no one else has got :(

Re: nice!!!

Oh, and I forgot, they also broke the pi that holds the spring mechanism in place :( So I've had to stick a nail in to hold the spring in place.
Again, it'll work fine now, but I didn't ask (and pay for) a broken 147 handle, did I?

AVOID AVON AUTOSPARES They seem to be a bunch of muppets with sledgehammers!

Re: nice!!!

Right, think I figured out why my handle doesn't return fully all the way in, also why it's so hard to push in fully when fitting.

The lever that pulls the openning mechanism (The one you have to saw a big bit off) hits against the window runner. For some reason it hits it more on the passenger sied than it did on the drivers side. so I recon I'm gonna cut this bit off too (marked red):

note the innards of my handle with bent nail instead of hinge pin, and missing lock arm!

Re: nice!!!

did say they were ******s, but there was now where else unfortuneatly!

I noticed that mine didnt return fully, but if you losen the torque bolt in the side of the door it returns fine now, i think the arm that the torque screws into is slightly shorter on the alfa handle and doing it up tight distorts the shape or something...

Try loseng it first, it worked for me!
