Can I start the 127 thread here if that's alright ?

I recently bought an 80 127 sport. It's an orange one and has been fitted with a John Fancy head. I'm told it's putting out around 85 HP.
I blame the 127 Sport for getting me into all things Italian. An orange Sport in 1980 was my first foray into Italian cars and has stayed with me since. I've been looking for one of these for over 15 years. A good friend of mine Walshy66 found it for me.
It's given me hours of fun already. Even has it's original radio that only works on AM/LW which seems to just play 80's songs.
So anyone on here with one?

hi stuart.
nice to here you have bought a little 127 sport.i remember them fondly with the squarish instruments, narrow tyres and willing engine.plus they are very easy to work on.is it in good shape?

Erm... That sounds like Christine (You know the Psychotic 57 Plymouth Fury that only played 50's music???)

Jim

Yes Jim it's the new security device if someone tries to steal it.

No Steve, I'm bringing along the NEW Croma, curtosy of Mervyn Stewarts. Although after Jims Panda cary on I'm surprised they lent it to me.

Thank you Sumplug, The car is in pretty good condition but I'm intending stripping it down to the shell and making it almost concours.

nice one.
ive noticed a lot of fiats are in northern and southern ireland.131's seem to crop up often their.plus i remember back in the 80's,128 etc coming from ireland only painted green.these had the 1301cc engine fitted.

Frankly I am seriously envious here. The car I learnt to drive in was a 1978 127 sport in, guess what, Arancio Racing Orange and I still yearn for the day that I get the chance to drive another one. The first car I bought for myself was a Mk2 127 1050cl, second and 3rd being 1300GTs. Between myself, my brother and parents we have owned no less than 11 127s in various guises including all variations of the Mk2 as well as a couple of 1300 GTs. Great car.

Look forward to seeing it at a show or two in the future and nicking the keys from you for a burn round the block. ;)

Enjoy!

That roofrack was mine! I lent it to Jim for the Morocco trip. It wasn't his to give away. :)

I don't care it was on the car when I acquired ownership and you stole it of the car. Possession being 9/10ths and all that, You roof rack thief you. It could have stayed lent :p

BTW this is still a 127 thread. (y)

Technically you hadn't acquired ownership as I was standing beside you when Jim gave you the keys at 10pm. :)
