i wouldnt do NOS, it would be nice but i would like the power that it gives all the time and you could be too trigger happy with it and it will cost you a fortune to keep filling up the bottles, also they will need to be filled up by specialists, so if they not local it would mean a trip to get them filled.

turbo yes, i would love one, but insurance wouldnt, high boost/low boost i have no idea, aslong as its got a loud dump valve i would be happy

chipping isnt a bad idea, you could get a uni-chip fitted this allows you to alter i think about 400 settings within the ecu, again, dont ask me how, i just read these things, i would imagine this would cost around £400 ish and each time you wanted it altered you would also have to pay

do not do the cheapo ebay things, you pay for what you get at the end off the day

ask paxton, about chips, see what he says, im assuming you have taken the car to him that is

Modify the throttle body, either go the whole hog and get a Punto 75 one (38mm but hard to do) or a 32mm Punto 60 one - file the throttle shaft down a little and threadlock the screws in for a bit more air past.

GSR induction kits are good for more power, boost torque quite well.

Zorst - full system, decat maybe but watch the MOT.

Ported head, fast road cam, raised CR - bit more go but for £

Lightened and balanced bottom end, light flywheel.

Chipping - with big mods best go for a custom map to suit your setup, rather than a generic chip.

didnt think u could get a fast road cam for the 60 engine, and wat is the best way to raise CR, couldnt u just skim the head?

and how much do u think a customed mapped chip would set u back?

isnt the fast road cam from a punto 75 engine??

errm a custom chip would cost arond £400 i think, or that is what i was quoted, when my ecu packed up, im not sure if that included a new ecu either

mckcrich is modifying his chip to work on seis, and i suspect it'll be tested on 1242 engines soon. Have a chat with him, i have one of his chips - a lot cheaper than unichip and def worth it!

the hotter cam is from the punto75 engine, yes

yeah.. forgot about that, 1997+ tend to be soldered ECUs. Would a cinq ECU from a scrappy work on a sei?
yes it does as it disables the immobiliser, ive actually got a cinq ecu sitting at home, ready to try, but i havent got my ass into gear to get it sorted
