General 120 and s**t a brick!

Thought i'd give the cinq a good caning on the "private road" (A1) and managed 120mph! I was trying for more but came to a slight bend and a b*st*rd lorry decided to change lanes without indicating![

!] Needless to say I nearly shat myself having to brake heavily to avoid the lorry and thought I was going to total my car[xx(].

Still, 120 from a sporting eh? I like it! When the roads are clear again..........

you have got me wanting to go out now and have a good thrash see what mine will do.
i've seen 108 on the clock a couple of weeks back so i would like to know the true speed i would not thought it would be to much out.

Yeah mine does that at 80 !! B)

Never got past 100 in mine... wouldn't want too it's so light it would probably take off with the slightest gust of wind! Either that or never stop coz the brakes are crud

It's funny, they just seem to squat down and keep going. Mine feels ok at 110+, no shakes etc - just a bit of wind and engine noise!!

yeah same mine feels pretty sturdy after 100+ seen mine to 120 and started to sh*t it so slowed down.

got to about 115 in my sei on the m4 with 13"s
but with my 15"s 80 is hard to get to!!!!!
they look trick but make me even slower.

i can easily get to 110 wi my 15's on slows when hit bout 90 95 but gets tehre after a few mins

1242 DIY from about £350 all in, or probably nearer £750 in a garage?
Think the Punto GT engine needs serious bulkhead and chassis mods to go into a cento. It's a much bigger engine from a different 'family' - e.g. non - fire.

Is there any way of getting the speedo calibrated? I am sure mine isnt as fast as I reckon it is.

Im pretty sure It wont go 115mph like I have had. Top speed is quoted as 93mph (or is it 98mph) and I've had 105 - 110mph on a flat which I am sure isnt right. I reckon its out by about 5-10% as most cars are.

Novitec do a 118bhp Cinq 1242 turbo conversion - big money and full AA cover needed though!

i was looking at that today around £2500, I think. would be considerably cheaper to do it DIY way, i wouldnt mind some stuff of that site though
