This one is sorted now, isn't it? :)

I am slowy coming to the conclusion that most threads end on a different topic to the one originally posted... Car went to the local reputable mechanic for judgement today. If it looks silly costly i am getting rid.

It's a Panda, it can't be that costly. Not if you're willing to have a go yourself that is. The most expensive thing when maintaining a Panda is the labour charges, part are very cheap.

I had to cable tie the rear bumper on... the bolts on the rear supporting brackets were really really tight and then they sheared right off  ... so loosed up nicely. seriuosly finding the bits is not that straight forward. Must be out of Panda hunting season.

Post what you need on hear. Between us I think we could build a couple of Pandas from scratch.

With an offer like that how can i not!? I have a MarkII model Selecta

OK at the moment (i'm sure in time the list will grow) i am looking for...
Front bumper
NS Headlight
Bulb retaining clip
Rear bumper (mine has all the mounting points ripped off)
Rear bumper mounting brackets (although I am thinking of getting mine bolts welded on to replace the fixed bolt)
1 number plate light (just the clear plastic bit)
timing belt
Timing belt cover (preferably that strange green colour, but black is good also)
1 passenger seat (mine is buckled by something, hunchback maybe)
little-rubber-gromit-from-the-car-body-to-stop-the-door-moving-so-much thingy

that's all i can think of just at the moment...

Most of this is "wee buns" as we say in these parts, to get the old bumper bolts out, you'll need a set of easy outs and a wee bit of heat, thats the hardest job you've got!:)

The rest is a weekend of work!:)

what are easy outs?... i was thinking ofjust getting them drilled out... but if there is a better way I am all ears. this would obviously leave me with the small problem of finding the fiat bolt to replace the ones currently on... well the bighalves left on... which reminds me.. they are downstairs ina buckts full of antirust solution... they may have completely dissolved by now anyway saving me the effort.

Easy Out's are stud extractors with a left hand thead, you drill a hole in your sheared bolt and wind them in, they work best with some heat, once the remains are out, replace them with stainless bolts, at approx 50p each, no more problems!

i have got you... but you have got the wrong end of the stick. I need to slice off the subs of the bolts not fish them out of a hole. there are 2 fixed bolts whichare used to secure the bracket onto the bodywork. the nuts which secure these sheared off leaving half of the fixed bolt. 5 minute job with a bench/tower drill.

then arc weld a suitable replacement onto the bracket, I can't see some 10mm bolts costing that much.

:D anyone tried doing a lightened flywheel on the panda F.I.R.E engines?
maybe an aluminium job with friction material bolted to it (like new mini ones)
