With all the threads about tracking problems with the 100HP I thought that a poll would show the severity of the problem.

I took my car to a local garage today to get the tracking looked at a suprise suprise it was out and i was by a little. Over all it was out by 6mm which is quite a bit.

It going back in three weeks to get retsted and if it is out again then i will be taking the problem up with Fiat.

So add to the poll, has you 100HP had problems with its tracking?

Nope, none at all (after approx. 5000 miles). But then again, I ran my car into a deer 6 days after I got it and the wheels had to be re-alligned, so that might have fixed it before it even became a problem.

:bang: this is becoming quite an issue. surprise, surprise my 100 hp started pulling to the left early this week. take your hands of the wheel, give it some gas and it heads for the kerb at an alarming rate....:(
I have just returned from the service desk at my local Fart dealer and heres the word.
there are no known issues with the 100hp tracking or suspension , they checked on computer with Fiat. no recalls or bulletins.
unless there is suspension damage, a retrack, camber adjusment is NOT COVERED UNDER FIAT WARRANTY.
that will be an hours labour sir including vat £67.00 .

i have it booked it in this afternoon at a local tyre specialist.
will post later with results..............

just got back, tracking out, laser jobbie with print out. BUT....it,s still pulling to the left.....looks like it,s going into local fiat. tyre shop reported all looks good, no obvious damage. any body got any ideas.....:(

heres the the read out.

they gave me the same bull answer at both garages, but I got my adjustments made at the garage for £30, think that was a special offer though(n)

If it's pulling to one side check the tyre pressures all round, check for sticky brakes and see if anything's loose. If it's suddenly started happening then something has changed with the car.

It could also be faulty electric power steering......

If anyone wants to adjust camber, you're going to need something like these adjustable camber bolts:

Might well take the edge off the handling though!

I have been to all the known tyre specialists and they say they do not have the measurements for the 100hp - so where is everyone else going? I live in pot hole county - I can get the multipla sorted but they look at the Panda and scratch their heads. My local Fiat dealer can do the fronts but not all 4:cry:

Car has now started to pull to the right when the steering wheel is in the dead ahead position

I'm taking it back up to the garage in the morning and i'll report back what they say.

It's possible if they have changed the toe by a full 6mm that they are using the wrong figures to set it to, especially with your comments about it pulling one way.

Can any of the Fiat techs confirm what the toe setting should be for an HP please?

Just back from the garage.

They had a look at it again and said it was slightly out so i set off home and it was still doing the same thing. Luckily the Fiat garage is on the way home so i went in and got the figures for the 100HP, turns out its different from the stanard Panda (garage had been using standard figures).

So i went back up to the garage with the new figures and they reset it.

On the drive home i was still noticing the pull to the right. When i got home my dad drove the car and he says that its still pulling but not as much as yesterday. So i'm giving it a few days to see if it improves and if it doesnt then it going back. I might even take it to Fiat to see what they say, what do you think?

I am starting to wonder if it is something to do with the steering as it seems off center???

Here are the figures given to me by Fiat for the 100HP

Front Wheel Toe-In

Toe-In (mm) -1 +/- 1

Rear Wheel Toe-In

Toe-In (mm) 3 +/- 3

Front Wheel Camber

Camber (Degrees) -1 +/- 30'

Rear Wheel Camber

Camber (Degrees) -42' +/- 30'

Puffed Out Daddy: if the figures Fiat have quoted above are correct, your front camber is within spec - also the front toe was well within specs before they adjusted it.

They've charged you for a job that didn't need doing, really.

I have not noticed any problems with my 100hp yet 2600m but my old Sporting did pull to the left all the time i had it, also wore out inside edge of tyre at 15000m checked 3 times and was within guidelines all times, was told to rotate wheels did stop pulling to left for a while then returned again.

you may be right, but it,s shown the tracking is not causing the pulling to the left...upside found a good tyre shop with the right kit and knowledgeable staff. plus dont forgot they did,nt have the panda settings and reset using there computer.
will have to wait till after the may bank holiday before I can book it into fiat to look at. starting back tonight on a night shift that would bring tears to your eyes. :D
