Hi there,

I have owned my Marea for a few weeks, it has covered 4700 miles and is in good nick, but it has this annoying problem. When the car is cold and from a standing start it won,t change up until you get high up in the revs. When the car is at normal running temp it will change gear fine. Could anyone tell me if they have the same problem, or is there some kind of adjustment needed, also sometimes when the car has been stood overnight and i put the brakes on i have to stand on the pedal before the car stops. The first time this happened i nearly overshot a junction, luckily it was quiet on the roads at the time. The pedal didn,t feel spongy, it went down approx 2 inches then went solid like there was a brick at the back of the pedal, but it wont stop the car. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

the high rpm change when cold is a common complaint so i think it is normal.

get a free brake check at your local MOT tester. brakes work ebtter once they are warmed up and dry, first use of the day is never as good as once they are warmed up.
