I'd leave well alone if I was you. Just checked on my JTD and the next lowest point is pretty much the gearbox housing and you don't want to crack that
You are probbably right, i'll leave them, and let the sidewalks do the grinding to the propper size
I'll try to take some pictures, and see what is the lowest point on my 1.4 i think is the oil sump or the exhaust pipe, not the gearbox.. I promise, i'll leave the angle grinder in the garage
