Technical 1.4 GT Turbo.....Turbo needs replacing

I am looking at Buying a GTT. I have been offered 1 on an R plate. Only problem is that the Turbo has gone. There is a brand new 1 supplied with the car. I have been told it is expensive to get it fitted and was wondering if has an idea how much I will be looking at paying.

Look very closely at the whole car. These guys tend to get thrashed so watch out.

i have had a mechanic look at the car and he says its only the turbo that appears to be a problem.the car has only done 80000 and owned by 2 ladies last 2 owners. cant complain for £2000 but need to know about this turbo

Sounds a lot of ££s to me. My HGT had lady owners who "forgot" to change the cam belt and knackered the clutch in 65K miles. But it only cost £1200.

The cam belt snapped but that was my fault for using it - I knew it was way past its use by date

people buy them with about 30k on them for less than £2000.
