1.2 Stilo on 02 plate - engine fault - P0105 Fault

For the last few days i have been getting this problem where when starting the car fires up for a second then dies. As it is turning over i get a Loose connection message on the dash. When i try to start it again it fires up straight away but i get a Engine fault warning and the car it ticking over roughly for about 10 seconds. It then clears and car appears to drive fine (apart from engine fault light on). The fault then tends to clear mid day and does not return.

This problems seems to happen every morning on first start.

Any ideas?? I am guessing it may be the Cam sensor as mentioned in other posts but no one seems to mention the rough running for 10-15 seconds

Just had the fault codes read and it is only showing 1 code - P0105

sounds like a bad connection or water in the electrics (n)

I am going to check all connection (that i can) this afternoon to see if that makes a difference.

The car has had this problem twice before but it was a one off each time and did not do it for months afterwards. But now it seems to have developed so that it is every day. The loose connection has appeared on the display a number of times but it has just beeped then message has disappeared and no warning lights. Again it is just random

The battery is less than a year old. When this started the first thing i checked was the battery and the garage said it was fine.

Update on fault.

As recommended, cleaned all connections etc.. Car started fine for a couple of days then fault returned again, although this time it stopped doing the engine cut-out when it starts. Now it just runs rough for a few seconds and the engine fault error appears.

Ended up have to bite the bullet and get the Fiat garage to have a look. After the Fiat garage releaved me of £85 it was sorted.

As mentioned on here it was a software update. (Touch wood) car is starting like a dream every morning with no error.

£85 is abit steep, one of first things to check is the update...however its sorted:)

Yep , you telling me!!!

There is only one Fiat Garage in the area so i was very limited. I did phone around a number of other garages but they were unable to do a software update.
