Most replies go along the lines of "it's not that easy, not that cheap & hard to insure...."

Just sell it & buy a turbo version (y)

ok thats a cinq mines a punto different engine same principle i am aware so if i was to buy one of these turbo kits what are the things that you need and the things that need to be done

You didn't say yours was a Mark2, but yes, the principle is exactly the same. I don't think anyone is doing the kit new anymore, and I've never seen an MPi one. Using that thread and the guide, make it up yourself.

Cheers

8V engines in Cinq and Sei, Uno & Punto are all much the same.

If you "accidentally" forget to get an engineers report and/or insurance please let us know before you go out.

Same engine, different car! (Assuming that it's MPI/SPI.)

None of the kits out there on eBay are suitable. Even if they were, you'd also need management, chassis/suspension/brake work.

Bear in mind that by fitting a 1.4 16v engine (Panda 100hp, Grande Punto, Stilo 1.4 16v) will give you much the same performance as a fairly good turbo and factory levels of reliability.

Or even go out and buy a Panda 100hp, Grande Punto, Stilo 1.4 16v. At least you'll be able to get insurance for them.

Ah, but too fat, too heavy!

Assuming reasonable driving history (and age) the specialists will do you a decent(ish) insurance deal. Blue was costing me £500 Fully Comp (in Liverpool) -- Martin was paying far less in East Yorkshire.

£500 per year for for a turbo modified Punto? Yeah right.

BTW the Panda isnt bloated, but yes most new(ish) cars are way too blobby.
