hi chaps, got a quick question, every time i turn on the blowers to clear my windscreen the fuse pops, this happens on any speed setting, any ideas what i need to fix this? If you have an idea and a part number that would be stunning.

Also, i was reading a post about removing locking wheel nuts, i too have this problem and i saw on the post that halfords sell a tool to remove the wheel nuts, any ideas what they call the tool and where i can get replacement bolts for the 4 wheels?

Thanks i'll take a look tomorrow, if it turns by hand does that mean it's a wiring problem as opposed to the fan?

Right i've removed the felt stuff, found the fan and it turns with no resistance, is this good? I tested it again and once again it popped the fuse. any ideas? Also, there is a wierd green contraption that plugs into the box next to the fan with what looks like a resistor soldered on it, could this be the problem?

Hi,
Could very well be your problem, I think that widget is called the reostat, controls the fan speed, they seem to be a bit iffy, my fan go slow on 1, fast on 3, and variable between slow and fast on 2.....if that makes any sense.

If your any good with a multimeter, you could bypass the reostat and check to see if the fan works, should run on speed 3, but be very careful, if your not sure of what your doing, you could do even more damage.

ps. check the motor connections to make sure theres no corrosion, a dose of wd40 normally does the trick.

Thanks

Thanks for the info, i'll give it a try, i didn't manage to get the fan all the way out of the housing but it looked ok, will battle on with it and see if i can get it out to check the connectors. not a clue what i'd be doing with that widget, but any idea how likely it is to be the cause, and what it costs to replace?
