Technical 1.1 sei head gasket gone :(

started my seicento up yesterday and let it tick over for a short while as it was the first time ive started it in a short while and me being the idiot that i am forgot that i removed my fan as it stopped working:bang:. i returned out of my house to a cloud of steam escaping from my bonnet. now when i start it its very smokey and the water is dropping (also looks abit oily) so ive ordered a new gasket set and bolts. just wondering f anyone had any hints for changing it or could recomend a specific oil grade to put in afterwards?

have a gander in the guide section its all in there for the HG, id use 10w40

also not very smart to remove the fan on one of these

okay il have a look now mate, and i bought the car off my sister and the fan never worked when she had it, i was going to buy one of the universal ones on a switch off ebay.

i would be chamgin spark plugs, timin belt n tensioner(8 quid bid on one at the moment) new oil filter water pump just for piece of mind smoky

Assuming Sporting, re-cut the valves, re-shim, new valve guide oil seasls (come with the CH gasket set anyway). That way it should be nearly as good as new.

any spare money i've had has been put into my car, nearly happy with it tho, i mean nearly everything has been renewed apart from the shell

near pontypridd theres a garage by me that does it for 30 quid

not sure of their name just know where they are sorry but he said they do petrol engines 30 quid and diesel engines for 40 cheers

just bought oil and filter for her, 4L of castrol GTX 10w40 for a tenner in asda and got the oil filter for 5 quid on trade.
