I have a weird central locking problem on my Tempra (or Tipo with a fat ass as you wish).

Sometimes when i unlock my driver door from the outsite, the other doors won't unlock. If i repeat the lock unlock procedure from the outside, the other doors will eventually follow on the 3rd or 4th time.

First thing you would say is that the central locking motor switch on the driver side is bad or something.

But the first weird part is: When i try to unlock the car from the passenger side, the same thing happens. Only the passenger door will unlock and the rest won't (at all, in stead of on the 3rd or 4th time)

The second weird part is: The LOCKING part ALWAYS works from both doors.

Sometimes the system operates like it should: opening everything from driver or passenger side but it gets worse

Anyone options?

PS There is no difference in behaviour between trying with the key or sitting in the car and operate the (what do you call them) 'lock-sticks'

I have a similar problem with my Tempra but it's the locking that sometimes has to be done twice or even 3 or 4 times for all 4 doors to lock.

A bad driver side motor (or the same side where you are trying to unlock/lock)
only affects the door you are unlocking from, the key does the unlock/lock, the motor "follows" the key as you have told the system to operate from the locks internal switches by using the key.

Are you saying the unlock problem is the same from either front doors, I think you are, this points to a problem with the control module or the wiring from the front locks to the module, I suspect the plug connections on the module or the module.

There won't be as the internal locking pins are connected inside the door to basically the same point as the key from the outside, this is why some thiefs get in to the car by using a bent coat hook through the door seals and pulling the locking pins.

I have online manuals here - http://www.brickfieldspark.org/temp/fiatmanuals/temprainfo.htm - try those, they are quite large downloads (16 & 53MB), try them for explanations of the locking system, I can then try to find the relavent pages in the Fiat Tempra dealer manuals

Check the wiring where it goes through the rubber boot into the door, has a habit of breaking an shorting, just requires resoldering
