Cant' offer much help with the air con as I don't have one but I do have the circuit diagram for a 1.9Tds with air con, it's here http://www.brickfieldspark.org/temp/fiatmanuals/temprainfo.htm at the bottom of the page. Hope this helps.

Sorry to hear that, I do have some problem with my air con few years back. It comes in - in a few ways, i.e in the wiring circuit fault or sensitivities, relays or mechanical.

If it involve the sesitiveness, most possibly it will correct itself after some extended time.

please elaborate further.

IN ADDITION :

Did you replace the gas filter that was located inside the gas pipe just under the car's battery (for right hand drive version). Which blocks dirts from your air con. compressor from entering into your condensor.

I hope to receive some advice / info regarding to your experience with your tempra in any aspect that you might share for our goodness.
