Hi .. my name roma i new in the forum and i have problem with my Fiat tempra 1400 , year 1992.
my motor a little smoking and i cleand the carb and the motor still smoking.
sombody told me to clean the valvs.. all the 8 and the motor will stop
is it effective? if not.. What i need to do to stop the motor smoking???

.. sorry about my bad english

Check the Oil, maybe you have too much, if the Oil Level is correct try changing the Oil and Oil Filter and Fuel Filter.

Lots of Grey Smoke = Engine fine, Try changine the Oil.

Black Smoke = Dirty Engine / Dirty Oil / Dirty Fuel Filter / Rich Mixture / Diesel.

White Smoke = Not enough Oil / Low Oil Pressure ??? (Might be wrong)

Blue Smoke = Head Gasket Failure (Might be wrong)

well as i know it

White smoke = brake fluid leaking into intake from master cylinder or blown headgaket

Black smoke = wrong timing or air / fuel ratio

Blue smoke = engine using oil, could be valve stem seals, worn rings etc.

if it is black smoke try to lean out your air/fuel ratio a bit should be +- 13:1 if youve got the right equipment to measure.

i cleaned the valvs andchanged oil and the smoke over.. tanks a lot!
