Technical tempra gearbox

just had the gearbox overhauled by s&d trans in donnie

input shaft bearings and a mainshaft bearing changed (a really common problem with fiat gearboxes ) only charged £166 + vat
now its very quiet!

I see those problems are common, but oddly I've never experienced them...neither on my Panda or the old 127:I!Notice the 127 has been driven to a scrapyard with more than 300'000km and a one-time reconditioned engine, while my Panda 1000fire has 120'000km on her clock but no gearbox noises or anything!Maybe you don't use an enough thin oil for the UK cold climate[8)][?]Now that you repaired your own g.box I advice you to fill it with a fully sinthetic lubricant as Tutela ZC75w80 Api GL5, which is quite thin
