1995 Tempra 2.0 8V in Brazil...

At cold start, a few seconds after starting, engine races to 2200 rpm for the first few minutes and then settles down to normal idle. Also this car has brutal warm start issues (ok for cold and hot starts)

Is the warm start issue related to the initial high idle? Other thoughts?

Fortunately, my fuel pump went on me. When it was replaced (along with both fuel filters), the warm/hot start issue was also resolved.
