Hello everybody!

I have a 1991 1.6 SX.i.e.cat Tempra with a central lock system.

When I press the remote control to lock the car doors, sometimes, the rear right door lock will not close. If I then unlock, lock, unlock and then lock( :p ), the door will finally lock!!!

Is it something that needs cleaning, or to spray oil on/in it, or should I replace the lock without a second thought?

I am asking, because I am not in the mood for dismantling the car door only for a check up...

Thank you in advance! :)

I had the same problem (with the same door!)....

There is a rubber tube which connects the vehicles chassis to the door...

In that the wires for the central locking goes...

Then a piece of metal in the door scratched the isolation of the wire..

So it got a shortcircuit to ground in there...

Well I had a Tipo with the same problem on the same door, so almost as good :)

A plastic piece breaks in the lock and reduces the strength of the motor. You might be able to make a new plastic piece if you are skillful with such things... So sorry for the bad news, but I think you'll be looking at another lock motor rather than oil/grease (which never worked with mine...)

Take it apart and take a look...
