Hello all,
1992 car with electric carb.

There are two cables ending near the ECU, one 2 pin and one 3 pin. I understand I might be able to get some blink codes off them. Anybody know how? I don’t have an engine check light but there is a buzzer of some sort.

Thoughts?

Hi

Of only minor help here

I had to code read a 1992 mondeo back in the 'noughties'

I used a traditional £5 volt meter..
You counted the sweeps of the needle :)

It would 'spell out '

1sweep ..PAUSE
7sweeps...PAUSE
3sweeps

So a code of 173 : oxygen sensor reading rich

No idea which cable you would use on a cinq.. but a meter in line with ignition on might tell you
portland_bill had cinqs of that era.. he might just recall

Hi there, yes one of the wires is ‘blinking’ but I don’t know how to decode it.

I had a Seicento, new in 2000, but only problems were simple, so no diagnosis ever needed. Panda with fuel injection before that never gave problems either, so sadly, no help here.
