I hope someone can help me. I bought a non running 2004 Fiat Punto 1.8 hgt. After sorting out the wiring and everything and the car not starting, no spark or anything, I noticed the key symbol on the ignition stays on. I did some further investigation and got error codes regarding the immobiliser. I don't have a key code to reprogram the keys. I can order this from fiat but will take about three weeks to get the pin. The problem is I am not sure if someone swapped the BCM hoping that will resolve the problem. So paying for the code might not help. Is there a way to get the pin code? I had a guy trying but he couldn't. Any suggestions? I can't find the chip on the board that I read about.

Hi Charlie, getting the code costs just over R200, have no idea what the locksmiths are charging. Up until now I couldn't get anyone who's able to do it. I will look in the 188 section.

It might be cheaper to get a 'viginised' ECU

As you have no guarantee the CODE you buy will work..
