Hi all, I'm new here so sorry for the mistakes I'm bound to make. My daughter has recently got a 2008 Panda 1.3d. Having driven it, it seems to have a lot of backlash in the trans, jerking on/off the throttle etc. Is this a common problem? It's almost impossible to change gear smoothly. Where should i start looking? At the moment I suppose it could be anywhere, but wondering if there are any known weaknesses.

Engine mounts.. lower dogbone is favourite

My mj punto needed a dogbone.. made a big difference.. and was only £18

If it's like my 500 there was some play in the gearbox where the drives/halfshafts connect up to it worth s check along with the engine mounts
