I am looking to buy this car next Tuesday. It is 11 months old at a Fiat dealership and has only done 34 miles being shifted around the showroom and car park, and short demo drives.
When I drove it the engine light was on. Limp mode. They did a forced regeneration by doing a motorway drive and say its OK now but I am very nervous now to say the least.
Your factual comments please.
Yes, its a real bargain.
Cheers, John.

It could have done more then 34 miles as they can do upto 100 miles from the factory before being reset to 0 by the dealer
It's also likely spent a lot of time at ideal as. Demo car
I wouldn't worry about it as long as you do sufficient millage for a diesel fuel

Can the dealer only reset to 0 if the mileage is less than 100 mls?
Can the dealer do this reset more than once?
What's to prevent a dealer 'clocking' a used car?

The reason I ask is that I recently viewed a couple of new Fiats at a dealership, both had 0 miles on the odometer but one of them, a 124 Spider had noticeable tyre wear plus both were pre-registered for some reason (with no discount on retail price).

Yes it can only be done once
New from the factory the cars usually have a H next to the mile counter until they are reset if you go much over 100 miles without resetting it goes on its own but keeps the millage done

The car is a basic Easy 1.3 with alloys and metallic grey paint and 11 months old for £7995. Now 65 miles after regen. That seems cheap enough?

Thanks everyone. I look forward to being an active member of the Forum.

In reply to the guarantee; They are passing on the balance of the remaining two years out of the three original and they have done the first years service as part of the deal. I looked around for a no fuss new car and I found this online and it will do the job.
Thank you all for taking the time to help me, John.
