This system is an extremely poor and expensive substitute for a spare wheel and tyre. The company(FIXANDGO) is beyond doubt the most unaccommodating company I have dealt with and completely refuses to either accept that their product is not as stated in their advertisements and they will not reply to correspondence regarding their shortcomings. I tried 3 tyre companies to repair my tyre including Main Fiat dealers and HAD to buy a new tyre despite the punctured tyre being normally repairable. Fiat MUST reconsider the use of this product and if possible return to the conventional system.

Is this the aerosol tyre sealant?

Back in the day.. when Finilec ...
then Tyreweld

Were sold as a stopgap..get you home..

Type of product.

There were many stories of the tyres NOT being repared.. despite holding air long enough to drive there.

More info please.. :)

I think all the roadside repair type products are designed as a temporary repair to get you 20-30 miles to someplace safe do you can't get a new tyre

Most places won't repair then after as you can't ensure a good bond for the patch to stick to

Thereby lies the problem, the web site for this product quite clearly states the opposite and when I challenged them they refuse to back down and will not consider their product is only to get you home and then buy a new tyre. They insist that the tyre is completely safe and should be washed out and a seal affixed and all is OK but no UK tyre dealers will do this as it isn't safe. It is one big con!!

I would agree with others regarding this product. However many years ago I worked as a welder seven days a week 12hr shifts in the Aberdeen area & my wee Punto at the time developed a puncture, I used one of those sealants to tide me over. Back at my digs I managed to locate a space saver & later took the offending wheel & tyre to a local garage where they quite happily took off the tyre. I took the tyre away & cleaned it out myself. This happened over a period of time between shifts. (money was good) ;)

Took the wheel and clean tyre back to garage & they repaired puncture, luckily for me a nail in the middle of tread. Now this was a small garage & a few years ago & a bit of the gift of the gab so perhaps I was fortunate. Ah happy days.:)

The company that make fix and go can’t force a tyre company to repair your tyre. It seems ridiculous to blame fix and go when they have no control.

I carry a £4 can of tyre weld in the punto and fully expect if I get a puncture that I’ll be needing a new tyre, however for the most part I’m not a fan of puncture repairs, tyres are not prohibitively expensive.
