Ok, I've got my hands on what may be one of the last Uno/Y-10 999cc FIRE distributors in Europe (based on the fact that it now shows out of stock and 3-times what I paid).

So, anything I need to be aware of when fitting?

Do I need to oil it somehow?

This is brand spanking new, not a previously used part.

(I know I'll have to adjust/set timing when fitting)

Generally speaking post 70s distributors do not require any lubrication "maintenance". The way to tell is to pull the rotor arm off and see if there is an *oil felt pad" on the top inside of the shaft.

I would do the following: (after checking the above)

o Rotate the dizzy drive shaft checking for free and smooth rotation

o Now using an oil dispenser can put a few drops of engine oil down the gap between the top face of the drive spigot and the dizzy outer shaft casing. Rotate a few times.

o Use your finger to smear the drive spigot sides and bottom face with a little engine

All the above is just to get started bearing in mind it is many years since the part was manufactured in your case. After that everything else is taken care of by design.

Thanks, I'll fit it this weekend then, along with an oil change (been running some cheap 15W40 "diesel" oil for a few hundred km as a flush/clean).
