Hi bought another bravo yesterday having had previous one written off by a works van . Got a decent price for writing off eventually . So went out bought a year younger etc with plenty cash to spare.
Looked the car over took it for test drive no issues apart from an heavily corroding /peeling back box of exhaust.
On my drive home after parting with money there was quite a bit of grey/blue smoke it carried on for a few minutes then cleared up totally and on a speedier bit of road checked out acceleration etc and put it through its paces . No more smoke .. Any ideas people as to what was/is the reason for the smoke ... The car has probably been sat for month or two

Hi could you please elaborate.. I was told that it could be as a result of servicing,,,
cheers

Hi,
Almost certainly a DPF regeneration if the journey was more than a few miles once warmed up. The DPF traps soot and when it is "full" the engine injects a little fuel into the exhaust this is catalyized in the DPF making it hot enough to burn off the soot. Happens every 200-600 miles depending on driving conditions and fuel.
Don't worry about the outer skin on the exhaust rear box. Common issue but not a MOT failure unless it's rubbing on ground or likely to injure MOT tester. In these two cases, just cut off the loose bit.
