hi all i replaced my alternator pulley yesterday but then i put it back on the road it shredded 1 grove off the belt looking further into it i noticed the pulley was not lined up with the others hence the belt being dragged off he pulley and shredding the 1 grove so im not sure if i have the wrong pulley for that the pulley has to locate somehow in the alternator has anyone had this problem b4 ??
the pulley is like 2mm out of line the with the others

cheers Nathan

i dont think its a spacer missing as its sticking out further then the overs and not in so i guess euros gave me the wrong part it was a valeo pulley

There will be several different pulleys, depending on which alternator and which vehicle, not specific to any model as the alternator may fit others. Valeo make alternators for many vehicles, so the correct one could also be a Valeo.

Ideally, take both to Euro and let them keep looking until they match the original.

well the new pulley did not have spacers but the old one did lol we put the new one on and did not notice the old pulley had a spacer that was still in place when we put the new one on
it was hard to see as we fitted the new pulley with the alternator still attached so there was limited view

cheers for the help guys
