Hi
Just wanted to know how easy it is to change the glow plugs in a 1997 Fiat Ducato.
Changed many spark plugs and glow plugs on various vehicles just never on a large van such as a Fiat Ducato van. Pretty sure they need changing, as not long had the van (motorhome) but its hard to start, sounds sluggish. Planning on giving it a full service fairly soon, change the oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter etc as its been standing for a while. Oil was changed about a year ago and not done that many miles since but been left standing for almost a full year, previously to me buying it that is. Not my doing, so thought as the oil as been left sitting in the sump all that time be a good idea to change it.

If anyone as any comments please feel free to share them.

UPDATE
I recently changed the glow plugs on a 1997 1.9TD Fiat Ducato. And it is a fairly difficult fiddly job. Access is poor to say the least and I ended up removing all the breather hoses, and coolant hoses as I was replacing the radiator anyway and flushing coolant system through. Looking at the front of the engine they are above the starter motor and below the fuel pump, and situated just below the injectors. I removed the injectors pipes completely to get better access to the glow plugs as they were in so tight. Once they were all out the rest is straight forward put everything back in reverse order.

Little tip if you do disconnect the fuel pipes to the injectors, then label each pipe with some tape or coloured pens dots, on both ends. Then it's a doddle putting them back.
