didnt find a thread that fit this so here goes:
just bought this '99bravo and it seems to reach operating temp around 5 minutes in 15C weather (is that too fast?) then the gauge keeps going up to close to the red line. if i slap the dash board above the gauge it goes back down to operating temp (mid-line) but eveyonce in a while jumps back to hot and back. also, if i dont slap it down it stays sh0wing hot.
when it shows hot i tried running the heater (all the way to work, about 20 min) and the gauge didnt go down at all. other than that the car seems to be operating fine.
is the gauge bad? and should i worry about that?
is the thermostat bad?
thanks for any help
