Hi all,
I have a Fiat Stilo 1.8 L 2004 .

It recently suffered a snapped Cam belt and had to have several valves replaced and repaired.

However since my car came back from the garage, the acceleration is poor above 30 mph and the fuel economy is massively reduced compared to what it used to be.

I think its the MAP/MAF system but I'm not sure.

What do you guys think and what would you suggest to confirm this?

Thanks
Chris

p.s. Is the red arrow in the picture enclosed the MAP sensor?

Take it back and play your face, no point paying garage prices and not moaning if it's not right.

Hi all, thanks for your replies. In response to your questions:

- It starts fine hot and cold. I've noticed that first thing in the morning it "chugs" a little when accelerating through low gears but after a min or so its fine.
- Engine warning light just came on to day.
- No excessive use of oil or water.

- The timing of the cam belt and the repair has been checked by a different garage and was fine.
- Air filter was recently changed in a service.

Does that give anyone any further clues as to source of the problem?

OBD2 compliant car, so code read is probably your best bet to track down the area.

Chugging could be a plug lead breaking down or even early signs of a head gasket issue.

Excessive use of water (I hope you mean coolant) is, really, any.
