Has anyone replaced a FIAT fast change diesel fuel filter (Part 55702102), if so can you tell me the procedure please? It’s mounted on the bulkhead of my 2011 MJTD Qubo, but I think it’s common to many models. The filter has an electrical plug on the bottom and three fuel connections on the top, along with a nipple which I guess is for priming with fuel and/or purging air. I am wary of triggering a fault light so would be grateful for any advice.

Thanks for the link, I hadn't seen the latest post on this thread and it covers all my questions except for the nipple on the top of the "Fast Change" filter which, as I said, is probably to purge the air.

Just changed mine, hardest bit was getting the 10mm mounting bolt out as its in tight location.

Before you start make sure you have correct filter ... Don't ask!

The connections pull off quite easy but watch for fuel spillage, have a rag ready.

Remove battery connection before starting.

It's a tight fit between the air filter and the bulkhead to get the thing out but slight tug and out it comes , pull the electrical connector off the bottom as you slip the canister through.

The new filter will come with a whit plastic plug at the bottom , this has the new washer fitted to it...

Refit is quite straight forward too...
Replace battery connection.

When fitted turn ignition on without starting , listen to fuel gurgling through, repeat. 5 to 6 times til gurgle stops , you can then start the engine.

I got this one from comline on eBay for £15.99

I didn't trigger any lights when I changed mine, and didn't need to purge any air...

Good luck..

Hardest part I found was a little metal spring clip thingy - bloody thing dropped into the nether regions & took me an age to find it :cry:

Being a tightwad, I recovered all the fuel in my old filter & passed it through a few layers of kitchen roll before topping up the new filter :D

Fiat, would it be too much to ask to make all these hoses 8" longer? Allow us to lift the fuel filter clear & hold it over a pot or something to catch the inevitable spills?

I just threw (recycled) the old fuel .not that much of a tightwad that I fancied getting any dirt into the jets.

I was also able to remove the hoses in situ and carefully moved out of the way to get the filter out.
I left the clip thingy on the filter and removed it on my workbench..
