Hi I have a 2004 panda 1.2 dynamic, it has been a great car, but about a year ago, i cam to a set of traffic lights and as the car stalling but idle was all over the place, that happened once in a while, but now has slowly got worse, it will stall quite often and is getting to be a nuisance, can anyone offer any suggestions as to why this is happening?

Throttle potentiometer.

is the throttle the only thing to cause this issue? or are there other possibilities? I have ordered a new one in the mean time, will be here for next weekend, anything else i should check in the meantime? I have changed the spark plugs, and read on here before about the fan belt slipping, I fail to understand that (would you not hear that a squeele noise?) any other suggestions welcomed.

Ordered a new what, throttle potentiometer?, needs special tools for extraction/insertion.

Without error codes or seeing the vehicle it's hard to tell however pandas are known for this as are puntos with same engine fitted.

You could always try cleaning throttle body and resetting parameters to see if that helps.
