Hello

I have a Stilo JTD and for a few days now there has been a dimmering/flashing yellow triangle with an explanation mark in it on the display. I have looked at the manual and it could be several things, however I don't get an error message with the warning light.

The car has a preheat fault and has had for some time but the warning light didn't appear then, only now. Also it has an EGR valve fault but again this light hasn't been present all the time. I thought it may have been because I had a tail light out but with a new bulb its still there. Also the car has a minor oil leak but the oil indicator on the dash doesn't seem that low for a warning.

I'm wondering if it could be a loose connection behind the dash???

Does anybody have any idea on what it could be?

You could try openeing and closing each electric window in turn. Fully open and fully close. This is normally required after the battery has been disconnected to allow the "anti pinch" function to recalibrate itself.

I tried the windows but that didn't work. I may end up putting it on a diagnostics machine, a garage near here charges £25....Fiat wants £78!!

I had a diagnostics machine put on the car today and it came up as a bulb failure. He checked all the lights for me and I have 2 side lights out, 1 on each side so hopefully thats that sorted! Nice and simples!!!!

All I need to sort out now is the airbag issue, new EGR valve and get the pre-heat fault sorted (heater relay that one is).

Glad you got it sorted but I'm a little puzzled as the why there was no additional info on the LCD display panel. This info is normally posted at "ingnition on" is the failure has already been previously detected and almost immediately on first occurance.

Is there any possibility you just missed the text in the display during the ignition on cycle?

Today I went to get the sidelights sorted, they were a pain. Infact I've had to book it in for one side which they couldn't get to without taking bits off! Anyway when they removed the indicator bulb (by accident I think!) I got a completely different light on my dash with the message 'Bulb failure....front indicator failure". This is different to the light I currently have. In the instruction manual the bulb failure message includes the sidelights. Also according to the manual this yellow triangle could be a 'lamp' failure, whats the difference? I'm confused. However with this triangle I get no messages with it and it sometimes flickers and dims, its not lit solidly.

Just to add I do have a pre-heat fault on startup and this triangle comes on and is solidly lit with the appropriate fault message. After that the same yellow light, like I said before dims and flickers.
